Vicenzaoro Highlights, September 2023: The New Digital Jewelry Week

October 2nd to 7th will see the third phase of the project conceived by Dario Rjeili, with the support of Vicenzaoro, for aspiring under-30 designers

IEG Italian Exhibition Group currently promotes numerous initiatives to support the future generations of workers in the gold and jewelry sector. In recent years, it has become increasingly evident that the entire industry is suffering from a severe shortage of manpower at all levels and, together with the institutions, efforts are being made to remedy this in various ways, for example with campaigns to promote a profession that, while still comparatively little known, boasts interesting aspects that are well worth becoming acquainted with. The latest initiative to this regard is Digital Jewelry Week, a project conceived by Dario Rjeili, a twenty-sixyear- old Venetian of Italian-Lebanese origin, with the support of IEG, in this case Vicenzaoro and Threedium, a high-tech company that already operates in the world of luxury and fashion. What does DJW involve? It is a digital showcase for under-30 goldsmiths, a contest that offers aspiring master goldsmiths and designers the chance to put themselves in the spotlight and then exhibit their creations at Vicenzaoro January 2024. The project is now in its third step and will debut online from 2nd to 7th October 2023 thanks to Spatial, a special platform on which to showcase the designers’ ad hoc creations, communicate their ideas of contemporary jewelry and finally open up to potential customers or companies in order to begin a career. The winner will have the opportunity to exhibit his or her creation at Vicenzaoro and see it transformed into a digital version thanks to Threedium's technology.
