«I have been attending Vicenzaoro for more than 40 years and for me, it has always been the “Harvard of jewelry” and I cannot find the thrill I get from this event anywhere else in the world. Here I find respect, great open-mindedness, an international outlook, a beautiful predisposition towards others and great opportunities for everyone, exhibitors, visitors and buyers like me. I really want to emphasize this aspect because the approach and the welcome I always receive, both here at the show and from Italian companies in general, express passion, convey an awareness of the value of relationships and, above all, reinforce the all-Italian way of respecting promises made, which is not so easy to find elsewhere. In other contexts, the business aspect is more important than anything else. Money comes first and the kind of connection that Italians know how to create is missing. Your strength lies precisely in the fact that it does not matter how much business I do and how much money I bring home, because loyalty and passion are what «A Vicenzaoro trovo rispetto, grande apertura mentale, una visione internazionale, una bella predisposizione verso l'altro e grandi opportunità per tutti, espositori, visitatori e compratori come me» drive everything. This also applies to creativity. Italians are the pioneers of creating, they are creators on a worldwide scale, and this is a value that absolutely must be protected. And it is just as important to support those who work behind the scenes and the small independent realities, the small brands. While the rest of the world makes jewelry for commercial purposes, Italians do it because they love to create jewelry, to make unique pieces, chain, a mechanism, a technological process, a clasp, or even simply to combine stones with different colors. Italianness is not a question of product, but how the product is made. Everyone knows how to make ear cuffs, piercings, chokers…. but it is the way an Italian company makes a piece of jewelry that makes the difference, setting it apart from others. This is why it would be wonderful and very important for Vicenzaoro to establish an internationally recognized award, because good creators must be rewarded and Italy, with Vicenzaoro, is the only, true representative to do so. The relationship between Italy and Dubai is getting stronger and stronger. For us you are the most important partner. The main difference between the two markets is that Dubai is a commercial hub, we are your subsidiary in terms of deliveries and services. While Italy is a niche market, ours is for niche classes - high, medium and low range, quantities, varieties, carats, sizes... We are the gateway to Africa, the Gulf countries and all the Arab countries. I think that the fact that the industry considers us as “the place to be” depends on the size, variety and quality of the traders. The ease of doing business and the way the government is taking care of all aspects related to trade, logistics, tax refunds, and the many services and showcases that we reserve for all the commercial brands, are aspects that you don't find in other parts of the world, whereas in Dubai everything is concentrated in a small area. It is extremely easy to do business there, but the jewelry certificate always bears the Vicenzaoro signature, so Vicenzaoro must become the industry’s Cannes Festival, the real award creator.»
