Vicenzaoro Highlights, September 2024: A New Cultural Paradigm
The sector’s new business opportunities also come from the institutions of Made in Italy’s main gold districts, Artificial Intelligence and sustainability. Vicenzaoro as a place to be for updating and training
Italy’s recent adhesion to the Vienna Convention on the Marking of Precious Metals was the topic of yesterday’s talk in the Educational Hub during the second day of Vicenzaoro September 2024. Gianluca Pozza, Head of Made in Vicenza's Precious Metals Laboratory, and Scott Walter, President of Hallmarking Convention, focused on the many new opportunities for all Italian companies engaged in the cross-border trade of precious metal items between member states. The same location for the moment of debate scheduled today to present the newly formed D.OR., Distretto Orafo Campano, strongly desired by the Campania Region and formalized with the creation of a network of companies representing the entire jewelry supply chain. The conference will include a presentation of the D.OR. guidelines, but will mainly outline the initiatives and projects that will be put in place in agreement with the associations, consortia and institutions. Vicenzaoro, therefore, as a place for dissemination, training and networking, as well as ideal hub in which to discover global style trends, first and foremost through the usual appointment with Paola De Luca, founder and creative director of Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, who yesterday morning proposed a talk with the meaningful title, “Wonder- land, where the future of luxury and jewelry is shaped by innovation and collaboration”. Accompanying her on stage at the Palladio Theater were Carlo Pignataro, consultant and sales coach for the luxury industry, Lorraine West, founder and designer of Lorraine West Jewelry, and Gabriele Moschin, AI artist, who outlined the revolutionary visions and evolving narrative of self-expression and social change. Moreover, as of this September edition, Trendvision is doubling up by providing a further moment of debate today on fashions and the mainstream (10.30 am in the Educational Hub), taking the discussion onto themes regarding the deconstruction of exi- sting realities and the co-creation of new cultures. Concepts that are still little known although this event will provide the chance to approach them. Traceability and sustainability are topics that need to be governed with knowledge in order to keep pace with the times. Today’s seminars organized by CIBJO will see the participation of experts of international caliber. The meetings will be moderated by Edward Johnson, Corporate Responsibility Director at Gemfields Group, and Iris Van der Veken, Executive Director, Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030. For those not in attendance or connected via streaming on IEG's The Golden Jewellery Cloud platform, the seminars will be available on youtube..
