Vicenzaoro Highlights, September 2026: The New Pavilion Reshaping Vicenzaoro
Mario Vescovo, Director of IEG's Vicenza Venue, explains the project that marks a new phase in the exhibition centre's development, with more space for T.Gold, enhanced exhibition quality and a vision aligned with the city's future
The new Vicenzaoro pavilion has been designed to support the growth of both the event and its exhibitors in an evolving market. «The project was conceived to meet the needs of Vicenzaoro», says Mario Vescovo. «We focused on two objectives: bringing T.Gold back into the exhibition district and increasing the space available to exhibitors». The expansion of T.Gold, the leading showcase for jewellery technology, was one of the project's key drivers. «It enables us to cover the entire supply chain, from gemstone-processing technologies to final packaging. The new space allows us to support its growth and improve the overall visitor experience». Yet the value of the investment goes beyond additional square metres. «The real added value lies in the quality of the spaces». The new building offers 22,000 square metres across two levels, with nine-metre ceiling heights on each floor. «It is an exhibition platform comparable to two Pavilion 7 halls stacked one above the other». The development also adds more than 1,000 square metres for T.Gold and provides greater flexibility to host simultaneous events. «What was once almost a bottleneck has become a key connection point within the exhibition centre». Architecture was designed with a clear goal: putting business first. «We wanted to create a functional, neutral space in which the exhibitor is the real protagonist». Services, catering facilities, relaxation areas and ease of circulation were all central to the design. For visitors and exhibitors alike, one of the greatest advantages will be navigability. Four escalators, three connecting bridges and large central voids make the layout easy to understand and help optimize time and meetings. The project is also part of a broader vision for the city's development. «It is part of a wider masterplan involving the entire area. The arrival of the High-Speed Rail station just a short walk from the fairgrounds will make Vicenza even more accessible and strengthen its international role». A transformation already underway and set to continue in the years ahead.
