Vicenzaoro Is Changing: New Hall Takes Shape at IEG Expo Centre
Work continues on the expansion of the Vicenza trade fair district, with part of the perimeter of the new 22,000 m2 building visible
The new core of Italian Exhibition Group’s (IEG) Vicenza Expo Centre is taking shape. Six months after the foundation stone was laid, the construction site now shows the first outer walls of the new two-level 22,000-square-metre building, designed by renowned architect Volkwin Marg of Hamburg’s GMP studio. The project is progressing exactly according to schedule and is now ready to enter a new phase: by the end of June, assembly of the impressive prefabricated body—positioned within the walls already partially built—will begin.
“It’s exciting to see the walls of the new hall coming to life, a modern and functional structure that will become the central exhibition space for Vicenzaoro and will energise other events and the conference area,” said IEG President Maurizio Ermeti. “At the September 2025 edition of Vicenzaoro, buyers and exhibitors will witness further architectural progress, with construction continuing seamlessly during the event, as in the past two editions.”
“The new hall’s perimeter is rising fast: some walls are already 18 metres tall, out of a planned 21,” said Mario Vescovo, Director of IEG Vicenza. “By Vicenzaoro September 2025, the entire external shell will be practically complete. The outer walls will be finished, and the prefabricated structure nearly done. It will be an imposing piece of architecture that will radically transform the site’s appearance.”
After the next Vicenzaoro edition, work will continue with plant installations and interior finishes. Completion is expected by spring 2026, in time to outfit the space and have it fully ready for Vicenzaoro September 2026.
