«The vintage market, particularly regarding high horologerie, is mainly based on one factor: the seller’s proven reliability. Since vintage items are increasingly seen as a safe haven asset, being able to buy them safely makes the difference. VO Vintage’s main commitment is, therefore, to focus on the quality of the exhibiters and guests attending what is currently the most authoritative show in Italy and, I would venture to say, in Europe. Names of the highest level, including several important new entries, like Corrado Mattarelli, one of the true giants of vintage watch trade, and Maurizio De Angelis, just back from his recent success at Antiquorum De Angelis. On 26th June, at the auction house’s headquarters in Forte dei Marmi, De Angelis established new watch auction record for Italy by touching on 4.4 million Euros, doubling the previous result achieved by Bolaffi. Next Monday, at 11 in Hall 7.1, De Angelis will also be taking part in a talk with Ennio Piva, another key player on the market, and Sandro Fratini, owner of the world’s biggest vintage watch collection comprising over 2,000 pieces and estimated to be worth over one billion Euros. We might say that Fratini is now a “regular” at the Vicenzaoro Show, having already taken part in the January 2020 edition, arousing great interest among visitors and participants at the talk. The title of this meeting says it all: Passion and Investment, which are certainly the two souls behind this particular sector.»
