Vo’ Clock Privé for Connoisseurs

Master watchmaker Ludovic Ballouard will be among the protagonists of VO'Clock Privé, an independent watchmaking “lounge” with meet-ups, courses and encounters with experts. On stage from 8th to 10th September

What could be better than a one-to-one meeting with the man who created a work of art? If you are a haute horlogerie enthusiast, the unmissable appointment is in Vicenza for the second edition of VO'Clock Privé, scheduled from 8th to 10th September. A veritable “lounge” of watchmaking culture, open free of charge, to the public of watch lovers. «VO’ Clock Privé is a platform at which the communities that revolve around the watch world can meet, learn and relate. It is specifically for the very best of contemporary watchmaking and originates from a direct dialogue with companies, operators, the media and enthusiasts. It responds to the needs of luxury brands and those of the most highly-rated independent master watchmakers to meet their consumers in a reserved, accessible and safe context.» These are the words of Matteo Pollini, IEG’s J&F Exhibition Manager for VO’ Clock Privé, the B2C event held concurrently with Vicenzaoro. Participating brands “performing” at the event include Zenith, an important attendance which comments on as follows: «We are here with the Watch Clinic, a unique experience that Zenith usually offers to those who visit the factory in Le Locle. There will be several sessions, held by an expert watchmaker, on restoration, the architecture of a chronograph movement, complications and lastly, on the restyling of the Pilot series. The Watch Clinic allows participants to approach watchmaking from an experiential point of view, to assemble and dismantle a watch case, to study its construction, to grapple with pliers, microscopic screws and tiny mechanisms.» Another protagonist of VO’ Clock Privé, Ludovic Ballouard, master watchmaker at the prestigious Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI), and creator of some of the most admired complications of recent times, is of the same opinion. «Italy is one of the European countries with the largest number of collectors and watchmaking enthusiasts, so I am happy to be able to present them with the mechanical parts of an independent watchmaker because I know they can appreciate it. This is my second time in Vicenza and I am bringing my two patented complications: Upside Down and Half Time. Those who already know them will be able to discover all the background and I guarantee that it will be great fun.»
