Goodwin Refractory Services (GRS) has carried out extensive research to be able to provide the jewellery industry with a product not classified health as a hazard in relation to respirable crystalline silica, yet still provides the same high level of casting quality and usability as a traditional based investment powder. GRS has achieved the goal and has applied for a Patent to cover this ‘New Revolutionary’ technology that enables the production of an investment powder that is classified as none hazardous: X-Sil can be used in place of traditional investment powders in terms of usage procedures, water ratios, mixing equipment, furnaces and burnout cycles, casting machines, casting temperatures, downstream processes. It is designed for the casting of all jewellery alloys from brass to 22k white and yellow gold and, offering protection for the workforce.
