The Vicenza Symposium: The New Biennial Event for Innovation in Jewelry
From September 2 to 4, 2025, Vicenza will host the international symposium dedicated to advanced technologies and manufacturing trends for the hi-tech and luxury jewelry industry
The Vicenza Symposium is the new international platform designed for professionals, academics, and industry leaders, entirely focused on technologies and manufacturing trends for jewelry companies. The first edition will take place from September 2 to 4, 2025, in the prestigious setting of the Palladian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This event is designed to attract young talents, foster networking, and provide a regular opportunity for professional development.
Presented to the global jewelry community during Vicenzaoro January (January 17-21) – Europe's leading jewelry, goldsmithing, and watchmaking exhibition, organized by Italian Exhibition Group with T.Gold – the international event dedicated to machinery for goldsmithing and the most innovative technologies applied to gold and jewelry, The Vicenza Symposium will be held every two years. Its goal is to carry forward the legacy of the Santa Fe Symposium – a historic event conceived and supported by former Rio Grande Jewelers Supply technical director Eddie Bell – which, since 1987, has promoted a collaborative community in the jewelry sector for over thirty years.
Eddie Bell will serve as Honorary Chairman of the Scientific Committee of The Vicenza Symposium, which will include key industry figures such as Damiano Zito (Chairman and CEO of Progold S.p.A.) as President and Massimo Poliero (President and CEO of Legor Group).
"The Vicenza Symposium not only celebrates technological innovations but also represents a key platform for dialogue among professionals, academics, and industry leaders," said Zito. "Our mission is clear: to stimulate continuous learning, foster networking, and share advancements that can have a tangible impact on the industry globally, always keeping a constant focus on the sector’s evolving needs. I am confident that, over time, The Vicenza Symposium will become an unmissable event for all professionals who want to shape the future of jewelry."
The program of The Vicenza Symposium will include a rich schedule of professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and discussions on key industry topics, including the integration and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), regulatory updates, quality control, 3D printing, and additive manufacturing. The latter, a true revolution for optimizing precious materials, will play a central role in the symposium's discussions. Additionally, the most innovative technologies in jewelry and fashion accessories production will be showcased.
The Symposium will be structured around two main sectors: fine jewelry and fashion accessories made from non-precious metals. It will be a non-commercial and highly technical event, featuring 21 international speakers addressing an audience of approximately 100 participants through seven daily sessions. Each session will last about 45 minutes, focusing on sharing progress and innovations in the field. The symposium will also include daily Q&A sessions (lasting 20-25 minutes each), allowing participants to interact with speakers.
A significant part of the event will be dedicated to presenting numerous papers exploring the most relevant topics for jewelry professionals. About 25% of the papers will focus on the world of fashion jewelry, with special attention to precious metals and production techniques, adopting an innovative and balanced approach that reflects the symposium’s mission: to foster the exchange of knowledge and technological advancements among experts and researchers, thereby contributing to the sector’s growth.
