Bravery, Chapter II by Louis Vuitton

Bravery, Chapter II, the new high-jewelry collection launched by Louis Vuitton, is a multi-colored ode to the famous flat trunk that the company’s founder invented in 1854

Bravery, Chapter II, the new high jewelry collection by Louis Vuitton, presented in January during the Paris Haute Couture week, paves the way for a new aesthetic language, marked not only by the excellence of the Parisian Haute Joaillerie workshops and the use of important rare gems, but also by the romantic and visionary story of its founder, who left his hometown in the Jura at the age of fourteen to walk to Paris, where he embarked on a pioneering journey through revolutionary inventions that forever changed the way of perceiving travel. Like the creation of the flat trunk, whose details are now echoed in this bold and dynamic collection. «The Bravery collection is a metaphor for Louis Vuitton's life. In the first chapter, unveiled in June, we presented the different stages of the journey he took. Now we are celebrating the most important moment of his career: the invention of the iconic trunk and all its distinctive characteristics. It is a new distinctive feature that we are introducing into Louis Vuitton's haute joaillerie.» Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director for Watches and Jewelry, said that, on the occasion of the bicentenary of Louis Vuitton's birth, she wanted to bring his extraordinary personality to life through energetic, playful and colorful designs. Arranged into four sets - Le Multipin, Le Magnétisme, La Mini Malle and Cocktail Rings, Bravery, Chapter II jewels are a multi-colored ode to the famous luggage invented by Louis Vuitton in 1854. The iconic lock finds new life in Le Multipin necklace, made with a hundred carats of stones aligned in three rows to illuminate an extremely rare 42.42-carat, lagoon blue tourmaline. The equally iconic rectangular shape of the suitcase is reflected in the surround of a central, 20.29-carat, cushion-cut, detachable Sri Lankan sapphire that lights up Le Magnétisme necklace, adorned with 152.86 carats of stones. Further geometric elements dear to the company give the other jewels rhythm, all enhanced by the light of stones of unparalleled quality. Like the four Cocktail Rings featuring a stunning 1.30-carat pink Padparadscha sapphire from Madagascar, a dazzling 1.34-carat ruby from Mozambique, a 2.09-carat cerulean sapphire from Sri Lanka and a 1.34-carat deep green Demantoid garnet.
