A tribute to the iconic symbol The Tree of Life to celebrate Etro first fifty years
The effect is almost like browsing the textile file in the family library, the one kept on the brand's historical premises at no. 3, via Spartaco in Milan. The S/S 2018 fashion show aims at creating this kind of feel, a return to the road embarked upon exactly 50 years ago. A journey started by Gerolamo ‘Gimmo’ Etro, who founded the company in 1968 and was already introducing the paisley pattern in 1981 - a symbol of the seed that generates the Tree of Life - and continued by his four children. And paisley is the recurring theme of this collection, which re-proposes Indian folklore in a ‘haute bohémien’ key, not only in decisive color shades but also with dresses printed with white pigments, lace, pearls and metal threads.
