Jewerly Highlights from New York Fashion Week
The best jewels spotted on the runways at New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018-19
New York Fashion Week introduced the new women's ready-to-wear winter 2018-19 season with peculiar jewelry pieces that enhanced each design story. Here’s a look at the most notable pieces spotted on the catwalks, which will turn into new must-have for the next winter. Every fashion designer showed a favorite style. Prabal Garung gave a very contemporary twist to the iconic pearls matching them with free forms in metal. The statement earrings absolutely dominated the runways of Tom Ford, Zadig & Voltaire and Zimmerman. Alexander Wang chose to complete the outfit with rigid chokers and bracelets. On the contrary, Cushnie et Ochs and Adeam opted for earrings with fluid and dynamic forms. Oscar de la Renta showcased nature-inspired earrings and necklaces and large crystal brooches. Several designers celebrated the romance and glamour with bold, colorful and stunning pieces. A special mention goes to fashion designer Jonathan Simkhai who decided to team up with the talented Ileana Makri, introducing jewels which struck a balance between Makri’s mystical sensibility and Simkhai’s inspiration: the Gibson Girl-as-suffragette, a symbol of both incredible beauty and fierce rebellion.
