Reimagining Locks

Marla Aaron and her "Locks" inspire the birth of a new trend with a punk-rock attitude

While the imagination is a powerful tool for a designer, being able to reinvent an object is a skill that takes things to the next level. This is something that often fuels future trends, as Marla Aaron has shown us. The New York designer famous for her “locks” has now created a series of oversized jewels for Roland Mouret’s S/S 20 collection. Earrings and necklaces feature large “slivers” of fordite, a hard stone with psychedelic nuances. «Her jewelry has that explosive punk-rock attitude along with extremely refined details that reimagine locks», says Mouret.
