Talking through the strength of iconic symbols is an attitude that belongs to fashion designers as well as jewelers more and more. Considered as one of the most powerful talismans, the sacred heart and ex-voto symbols are certainly among the most popular of the moment. We saw them again on the latest Dolce & Gabbana catwalk, which, for the next Fall/Winter 2020-21, presented a collection entitled "Fashion Devotion", but they are also the leitmotif of some new jewelry collections, to be worn this summer. One above all, the new "Santos y Cielos" just launched by Colette. To provide hope in times of uncertainty, the Los Angeles-based French, Mexican designer created a series of jewels Inspired by the medallions that she made for her father for luck and protection prior to his passing. “Santos y Cielos” is crafted with medals, charms and watch chains that the designer sourced in Paris and London antique markets. Old meets new in each piece, with porcelain charms hand painted by Colette and others symbolizing luck, love and faith. Worn close to the heart, the pieces were created to help the wearer to carry with them a powerful source of strength and protection.
