In London’s NOW Gallery, from 15th May to 23rd June, visitors will be able to admire the sparkling version of the Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” by Pakistan artist Sara Shakeel. Famous for her skill in creating and decorating works of art using crystals, Sarah was chosen by the gallery as the best emerging talent of the year in the field of visual arts and illustration. Her first truly interesting international collaboration which will also put the gallery itself into play. In fact, for the very first time, there will be no light sources. The halls will be totally dark while a large spotlight will light up the long dining table adorned with crystal decorations. Besides the famous Da Vinci painting, “The Great Supper” exhibition also includes a laid table inviting visitors to observe an everyday scene that everyone will be able to recognize and relate to. The table will be set with a typical Sunday lunch where even the traditional roast will be covered with shining gems. A family scene to encourage people to reflect on the precious moments that nowadays seem to have become too fast and taken over by the power of technology and consumerism.
