Tomfoolery is London’s most playful yet understated contemporary designer jewellery boutique and is proud to launch a second series of ‘art rings’ from a selection of over 40 of its current and longstanding independent jewellers, as well as emerging names in the industry who don’t currently stock at the gallery.Laura Kay, Creative Director of Tomfoolery, briefed all the contributors and exhibitors requesting that their approach be intricate, bold, artistic, masterful and most significantly one-of-a kind with a narrative. The response is a collection of statement but wearable miniature collectible artworks that celebrate bold design and craftsmanship. Each piece will be exhibited alongside a story card featuring a sketch and comment from each designer which will speak to their inspiration, concept or approach for this unique project. " Art Ring is an opportunity to creatively express and display artisanal techniques and distinctive styles within an exciting brief ", says Laura Kay, "Art Rings are made to be exhibited and never forgotten"
The eclectic range of talented artisans and designers include Fraser Hamilton, Jacqueline Cullen, Ruth Tomlinson, Jo Hayes Ward, Brooke Gregson, Hannah Bedford, Alison Evans, Max Danger, Maya Selway, Nora Kogan, Ellis Mhari Cameron, Franny E and Margaux Clavel.
Art Ring celebrates unique artisanal techniques and the diversity of jewellery. Last year’s most popular sell-out pieces involved numerous colourful stones relating to special occasions and anniversaries, many being bought as a cocktail or dress ring but also as an alternative engagement ring or band.
The exihibition will run until the 31st January 2020. Visitors can visit the gallery in Muswell Hill to experience this exclusive one-off event and discuss the rings with Tomfoolery’s specialist team.
