«If I had to sum up my many years of experience at Vicenzaoro, I could simply say that I feel like one of its “ambassadors”. I was among the first to sign up for the Design Room, a concept which is ingenious in itself because it allows someone like me, an independent designer, who does not have the organization of a real company, to offer himself on an interesting market. In a certain sense, by being unlike traditional Swiss events, we could say that Vicenzaoro is making a strong contribution towards raising the international public’s awareness of Italian and European fine jewelry in general - proof of this is the exceptional presence of a brand like Schreiner, which exhibited staggeringly stunning jewelry – and, on top of that, with a further eye on other segments. Nowadays, you can also find vintage pieces, costume jewelry and even watches here, with the presence of some historical brands alongside more innovative and contemporary ones. And as for jewelry, there are also all those essential suppliers for packaging, semi-finished products, stones, etc... As regards visitors, they range from design school students, with whom I love to exchange views and pass on my passion and ideas, to buyers and collectors seeking one-of-a-kind items. As was the case at last March’s edition: I was able to come into contact with numerous buyers from the Middle East, Northern Europe and the East, who are proving to be excellent. Among the pieces that attracted the most attention are the two rings Rumy and Dolce Vita, which took about 6/7 months of work and over 40 professionals to make. Rumy, in particular, features 46 mother-of-pearl flakes and 32 Armenian turquoise flowers, making it a little masterpiece of both craftsmanship and engineering. The necklace with 280 carats of Mozambique paraiba also made a show, while among the best sellers was the Rainbow line, in different colored titanium with tone-on-tone stones.»
