Play, amaze, customize. In Lisa Osimo's brand code, diamonds, precious and unusual stones for versatile and amusing pieces
«I was brought up among diamonds. My father used to give me a fraction of a lira for every parcel paper I cleaned of writing and various marks.... » This is how Lisa Osimo describes the onset of her love for diamonds and gems in general, based on her curiosity about all those little white papers and the tiny treasure that each one held. In this way, Lisa absorbed the passion for the family business from her father, a skilled gemologist, stone cutter and founder of Osigem, and learned the first rudiments of an art which she later perfected with a degree at Central St. Martins in London. Meanwhile, in 2014, her father founded Forever Unique, where Lisa became creative director in 2019 at just 25 years old. An important testing ground that also led her to discover her managerial side, prompting her to launch her own brand, Lisa O. «Lisa O. debuted at Vicenzaoro in January 2020, a few weeks before the pandemic broke out, and yet, it was an immediate success. The winning card was the brand's playful soul, full of color, irony, irreverence, a sentiment perceived by the possibility of layering pieces, the desire to appear and get noticed. Diamond is by far my favorite stone, but I also love to use rubies, sapphires and emeralds, as well as amethyst, London topaz, citrine quartz, garnet, prasiolite and peridot, six semi-precious stones that are often the real protagonists of my jewelry. For example, in the Jam and Musetto collections, where they are heart-cut, or in Swing, with an octagonal cut, and the drop-cut in Hanna. The latter collection, which recalls my second Hebrew name, is best known for one particular piece: a diamond tiara which doubles up as a necklace. It was a gift from my father for my wedding, I designed it myself and it is certainly one of Lisa O. Hanna's most iconic pieces. Its versatility is the essence of the brand. You don't go unnoticed with a piece like this and neither does a man wearing two Jam rings. With its heart shape and shocking colors, Jam is a decidedly feminine collection, which nevertheless appeals to male customers, who dare by contrarily wearing two rings. We can therefore say that Lisa O.'s jewelry is a unique means of self-expression, textural and deliberately flamboyant in shape and color, almost provocative, an effect especially given by a heavy brushstroke of enamel. One of the latest trends is customization: the advantage of the Forever collection is the possibility of inserting words, numbers and phrases on request in a ring or bracelet. Here again, what is surprising is the large number of male customers addicted to the ring with the word Love written in diamonds, or in rainbow sapphires, or with the names of their children or partner. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing how our customers make the concept of playing and expressing themselves with jewelry their own.»
