Vicenzaoro: We Serve the Industry and Its Community

This is the spirit that animates IEG, at the service of the supply chain to intercept the evolutionary needs of the industry. With the two new formats of Vicenzaoro September, VO Vintage and VO 'Clock, Marco Carniello and Davide Martini tells about it

Marco Carniello, Group Brand Director Jewellery & Fashion: «Let’s start with an undeniable fact: the moment we have undergone has accelerated the evolutionary path of trade shows on several fronts. In this last twelve months, the global trade show system has had to ask itself which road best to take, and IEG Italian Exhibition Group has not hesitated in giving its reply. Quite the opposite. Thanks to the impetus introduced in recent years regarding the integration of digital tools, already back in September, we managed to make an unprecedented format available to the industry: VOICE. A hybrid concept that saw the debut of new exhibition fittings and content communication modality, circulated in live streaming and shared with the international community in real time, also demonstrating to have perfectly incorporated the virtual component in terms of broadcasting quality. At the end of March, in the very midst of the third wave, we launched the brand-new, fully on-line, WE ARE Jewellery event, an occasion that allowed us to test out our multi-service platform for the first time, which, from now on, will go hand in hand with all IEG events. It makes sense to us to be able to offer our clients technological modalities that the sector has never used before, with media content and interactive fashion shows that allowed companies to remotely present their new collections to buyers all over the world, in a similar way as the fashion world does. Building on the success of these two valuable experiences, we can say that next September, from 10 to 14, there will also be a Vicenzaoro sui generis, but for different reasons. As the graphics and claims of The State of the Art event already indicate, the September edition will provide the chance for all sector insiders to “photograph” the industry’s “state of the art.” Instead of attempting to predict what will happen, we decided that it was probably wiser and more realistic to stop and take stock of the current situation, evaluating, and I would like to underline that, all together and 18 months after the last trade show, what the pandemic experience has taught us in terms of new opportunities and business modalities. The September edition will be a preview of the “trade show of the future” due to the speed at which IEG has innovated during the pandemic, which has further convinced us of the importance of human relations and the effectiveness of physically attended events. During the days of the show, the physical element, in all its direct experience, will certainly have the upper hand, but this last year has made us see that digital is not only able to multiply sales opportunities, it also, and above all, can act as an indispensable bonding agent between one trade show event and another. Keeping the community “engaged” means not being silent from one show to another, a factor that can really make the difference on the market today.»

Davide Martini, Brand Manager Jewellery & Fashion Division at IEG: «VO Vintage, Italian Exhibition Group’s exclusive marketplace, will be back with Vicenzaoro September 2021, hosting collectors and lovers of fine vintage watches and period haute joaillerie from 11th to 13th September. The event, open to the public, originates from the ferment and passion of an ever-growing expert community that embraces VO Vintage as a prime occasion to come into contact with unique and iconic items from the collections of elite brands in the world of watches, rarities and the most sought-after wrist watch collector items. The only European b2b event to take place in physical presence in 2021, VO’ Clock will allow buyers at Vicenzaoro to come into contact with the secrets, soul and stories of a large selection of brands that, with their proposals, manage to blend the most classic and coveted style with the most sophisticated mechanics, thus creating a new and authentic expression of the concept of time. The VO’ Clock days will also feature prominent events with top experts from the watch community and unique moments in which each brand will be able to tell their stories and describe their products to an international audience of traders, media and enthusiasts. In September, VO’ Clock will be a combination of business and passion for watches and the cult items of future collections.»
