Francéclat Brings the Best of French Jewelry to Geneva
From Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 17, The French Jewellery Selection, organized by Francéclat, brings the talent of contemporary transalpine brands to Geneva
Promoting the value of French jewelry on the international scene is the mission of Francéclat, as it furthers its commitment by landing in Geneva in a particularly dynamic month. Indeed, April is the month in which the city polarizes around the Watches & Wonders show with events dedicated to high-end products taking place on the shores of Lake Geneva. From Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 17, The French Jewellery Selection, in the suite on the fifth floor of the Hotel President Wilson, is the perfect event, at the perfect time. The eleven brands on display - Akillis, Copin, Djula, Gigi Clozeau, La Brune & La Blonde, Marie Mas, Mellerio, Morganne Bello, Nouvel Héritage, Statement and Viltier - are ambassadors of sophisticated fine jewelry, rooted in artisan tradition, but completely updated in terms of codes. A jewelry item becomes a project, designed to follow the lines of the body through patented solutions. It remains precious, thanks to a careful selection of noble materials and rare gems. Increasingly complicit in everyday life, it encourages the game of layering and customization and expresses itself through surprising designs while still retaining a strong symbolic connotation. Take the Python collection by Akillis, in which designer Caroline Gaspard captures the snake’s symbolic essence, transforming the scales into a graphic and sensual motif. Through articulated systems, the jewelry, available in white or rose gold and diamonds, naturally follows the body’s motions. Movement is also a subject of study for Marie Mas whose creations come equipped with patented mechanisms to make them flexible and sinuous. In Luminous Lines, the pearl seems to float on the skin, supported by the kinetic rhythm of diamonds that diffuse the light. La Brune & La Blonde draws us in, instead, to a different gemstone through its most recognizable signature element: the Nude Diamond, a stone without the constraints of settings. Its aesthetics generate the Moon and Sun jewelry in shiny satin gold and diamonds, and the Mini Rivière, minute necklaces illuminated by blue and yellow sapphires, rubies, pink sapphires, tsavorites, emeralds and amethysts. Morganne Bello is also back to enchant with creations that preserve the magnetism of natural gems. The Victoria Diamonds Grand Model necklace features a smoky quartz, embraced by diamonds that amplify its natural glow. In the onyx and yellow gold Friandise Sautoir, a fine chain passes through the stone, fusing with it. Nouvel Héritage captures attention with an avant-garde style. Founded in 2015 by Camille Parruitte, the brand’s creations are forged in French workshops, passing down and renewing artisanal techniques over time. The Mood collection looks at the aesthetic codes of punk and reinterprets piercing as a prestigious element; while the Try Me jewels come from the image of a deliberately broken and then re-welded chain, a metaphorical act that celebrates the strength of fragility and the idea that what was broken can be reborn in a new form of beauty. With the same progressive spirit, Djula infuses sophistication with a measured touch of transgression. The jewelry in the Endless and Barbelé collections trigger a sense of freedom and strength through the light of diamonds, preserved by unconventional designs. Gigi Clozeau moves to a different rhythm, offering vividly colored jewels made for everyday wear and easy layering. Heritage remains a wellspring to draw from. Founded in 1870 and relaunched in 2022, Copin combines its traditional heritage with the ultra-modern vision of new artistic director, Sajina Dutertre. Handmade in Paris by expert craftsmen, the Collection 82 and Dune rings seduce with their sculptural shapes, embellished with diamonds and precious stones. Viltier translates its historical DNA into original ideas. The iconic Magnetic collection embodies the brand’s much-loved concept of dualism through a variety of stones - sapphire, ruby, citrine, peridot - which preserve a message linked to the month of birth. Hence the jewelry becomes a lucky charm for every day, full of positive vibrations. In matters of iconic stature, Mellerio remains a point of reference. Founded in 1613 and run by the same family for 14 generations, it is one of those very rare independent companies that has managed to support the weight of the centuries with naturalness. It is currently bringing the Renaissance back to the fore, rekindling the passion for naturalism through Le Cabinet de Curiosités: precious charms, evocative and protective lucky medals to accumulate on the wrist or to hang on Liens gold chains with geometric and grooved links, and on Liens Pierres or Perles necklaces. A lexicon of symbols to customize. And Statement, captained by Amélie Huynh, feeds on symbols by offering collectible talismans, perfect for conveying emotions and sealing the value of personal success. The My Way and Rockaway collections, inspired respectively by Art Deco and Brutalism, are always further enriched with new designs while holding firm to their language of gold, diamonds and gems.
