The Universal Paradigms of CDD Jewelry

Elegant geometries and fine materials define the Scandinavian minimalism of CDD Jewelry, the result of a mathematical formula based on the harmony that exists in nature

The relationship between nature and mathematics follows the hypnotic rhythm of an eternal movement, an incessant dialogue between perfect geometric shapes and the very fabric of the universe. Chernyshova Daryna, an architect who has always been fascinated by parametric design, founded the CDD Jewelry brand to translate this profound relationship, an ever-present element of scientific and artistic research, into jewelry with a minimal and incisive aesthetic, developed through artificial intelligence, following the principles of the Voronoi algorithm.

Georgy Voronoy, the famous Ukrainian mathematician born in the village of Zhuravka in the Chernihiv region, came from a family that left an important imprint on Ukrainian culture. His mathematical formula subdivided space into cells based on the proximity to specific points in order to create the strongest possible structures using the minimum amount of material. The geometries generated are echoed in the natural forms around us – butterfly wings, the patterns on giraffes, the appearance of the soil in times of drought, and even human skin, when observed closely, shows a similar pattern.

Chosen to celebrate Ukrainian heritage, Voronoi's diagrams are the creative principle of unique and fascinating patterns, reproduced through handcrafted methods in gold and silver. The jewelry in the first two collections, Linked and Web, display symmetries and proportions that, based on this scientific origin, digress into a personal and humanistic narrative. Reproduced in series or individually, the cellular motifs of rings, earrings, bracelets, and pendants aim to remind us that we are all part of a single whole, suggesting that each and every one of us has the power to influence the entire world. A profound concept that makes CDD's jewelry not just ornaments, but symbols of connection and change, celebrating the beauty of geometry and the power of our interactions.
