Coscia Revises the Meaning of Pearl

The pearl is synonymous with inclusiveness in Coscia's new BlackMoon collection, launched in September with a special event

Pearl as a synonym of inclusiveness and complete freedom. This is the concept instilled into BlackMoon, the very latest collection from Coscia, which frees the pearl from its traditional link with the female world to transform it into a contemporary symbol of gender equality. For the first time, the Neapolitan brand has designed a unisex collection featuring a particularly versatile range of models: from fine jewelry pieces, in which the Tahiti pearl is enhanced by a light interlacement of 18K gold and diamonds, to the “easier” ones, in 925 silver, in which the Tahiti pearl is set among other colored stones. «The prestigious Tahiti pearl from French Polynesia is back as the undisputed protagonist. It has an incredible variety of colors and shades ranging from deep black to light grey, or silver grey, passing through the sophisticated “Peacock” green, or peacock feathers, so called because of its intrinsic multicolor and iridescent reflections. The beauty of these jewels is that they offer the possibility to choose, depending on the moment and personal inclination (which each of us develops over time or embraces in the morning as soon as we wake up), which part of our mood we want to enhance. The ideal thing would be to have one in each design, to give free rein to creativity,» Giancarlo Coscia explains. To celebrate the launch of this special collection, Coscia has organized a party on Sunday 11th September in the characteristic Club Restaurant Villa Bonin in Vicenza. The Tahiti pearl will be the fil rouge of the entire evening. The event, enlivened by videos and numerous photos, will feature an important moment of in-depth discussion with an expert gemologist, who will accompany guests on an emotional journey into the fairy-tale and mysterious world of the Tahiti cultured pearl to illustrate the creative path behind the BlackMoon and other imaginative collections in which the Tahiti pearl is the absolute star.
