GemGenève: Closure with the Desired Success

Buyers, designers, artists, collectors and newcomers from about 70 different countries gathered in Geneva for the show that closed with its objectives achieved

«A significant number of professionals was able to clinch good business deals at this fourth edition of GemGenève. One of the exhibitors even told us that, as far as he was concerned, the 2022 event was the best of all,» exclaimed a satisfied Thomas Faerber, co-founder of GemGenève. The show, held at the Palexpo in Geneva, ended on 8th May, achieving the success it had hoped for at its opening, as the words of Ronny Totah, organizer and co-founder of the event, also reiterated: «At the 2022 edition, exhibitor numbers were close to those of 2019 (with 210 exhibitors), and the number of visitors - 4,850 in total - increased slightly. These figures are a very positive sign in this post-Covid period, dominated by the crisis in Ukraine.» The format therefore proved to be a winning one, remaining faithful to its original recipe, made with well-dosed ingredients to achieve the right balance between creativity, business, culture, passion and inspiration. Thanks to an eclectic and dynamic context, for the fourth time, GemGenève offered a unique experience for both new buyers and collectors. Meanwhile exhibitors were able to focus on further business in a relaxed yet stimulating environment and the “public at large” was able to fully immerse themselves in the world of jewelry, not only to discover the many facets of the aesthetic imagination of emerging designers or renowned international brands, but also to take the opportunity to attend lectures and exhibitions and participate in immersive workshops with talented artists. During the event, seven avant-garde jewelry creators took part in the Designer Vivarium organized by jewelry historian, Vivienne Becker and, for the first time, the work of the talented gouache artist, Estelle Lagarde, could be admired. In the area dedicated to rising talents, GemGenève presented seven talented designers, five emerging talents and two established names. Lastly, among the most interesting initiatives, based on an idea by Thomas Faerber, GemGenève was honored to host the “Strong and Precious - Ukrainian Jewelers” stand, which displayed the creations of 11 Ukrainian designers.
