Monte Carlo Gems, the Premiere that left Its Mark

The first edition of Monte Carlo Gems, an exhibition of contemporary and vintage haute horlogerie and jewelry, ended today. Four days that took place in one of the Principality's most iconic locations, the Fairmont Hotel, which has always been a reference point for the social life of the Monegasque city, which during the same days saw a series of equally glamorous happenings take place thanks to the concomitant Monaco Auction Weeks.

The new event kicked off last Thursday with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, also with a princely touch thanks to the presence of the sisters Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara di Borbone delle Due Sicilie. This was followed by an exclusive Opening Gala held at the Galerie Cristal for invited guests only, including many VIPs and well-known faces from the jet set. 

Participating guests had the opportunity to see (and buy!) a preview of the pieces and collections that were then displayed to the public from Friday afternoon. A sumptuous show for the eyes accompanied by an in-depth programme with lectures and interviews with various specialists in haute joaillerie and horlogerie. Conceived by the MCG marketing team, the Monte Carlo Experience Programme allowed brands and customers to socialise during cocktails, meetings and dinners in reserved venues to enjoy full immersion in Monte Carlo city life.

Inspired by the claim that characterised the event: ‘All lights On Us!’, which was intended as a tribute to Monte Carlo as the set of films that have made cinema history, such as ‘007 Never Say Never Again’ and ‘Monte Carlo Grand Casino’. A promise kept that has seen the seeds sown for a new ‘club’ of connoisseurs who from now on will be able to meet here, certain to find all the latest industry news and a selection of vintage collectors' items. As in all up-to-date happenings, there was also a note dedicated to sustainability: Monte Carlo Gems supports the preservation of the environment by supporting the Monte Carlo Live Together Association.
