SIJE 2024’s internationalization is reflected in the participation of top jewelers from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia and the ASEAN region. The Italian Hall, a trade initiative organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and supported by the Italian Embassy in Singapore, provided space for 14 distinguished Italian jewelers. Indonesia also boasted a significant presence with its hall dedicated to pearls and precious stones from the archipelago.
Emerging talents were also given wide coverage with the reinstatement of the Singapore Jewellery Design Award (SJDA), organized by the Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) and supported by the Jewellery Design & Management International School (JDMIS) and IEG Asia. This year's theme, “Sustainable Luxury”, challenged designers to merge luxury with sustainability and was just one of the activities proposed during the 4-day event, which once again proved to be a center of knowledge and learning about the world of jewelry and precious stones. The program of knowledge-sharing sessions, alternating with fashion shows and meetings for enthusiasts and collectors, was extremely full. Ilaria Cicero, CEO of IEG Asia, organizer of SIJE 2024, said: «SIJE has consolidated its undisputed reputation as the region's leading jewelry center with the debut of several important pieces from jewelers worldwide. The presence of renowned Italian jewelers, as well as those from Singapore and around the world, represents the exceptional craftsmanship and innovation that our industry offers. We are excited to provide a platform that showcases the best of global jewelry, thus strengthening connections and opportunities within the global jewelry industry.»
Charged with enthusiasm at the success of the edition, the IEG Asia team has already started thinking about next year, which will also feature celebrations for SIJE's first 20 years.
