Spotlight on JGTD: Global Sourcing for Jewellery is Here
Tomorrow kicks off three exciting days of JGTD – Jewellery, Gem & Technology, the leading event in the Gulf region, featuring over 350 companies from 30 countries. What can we expect at the Dubai Exhibition Center? We hear from Francesco Santa, CEO of IEG
«For the fourth consecutive edition, the event has grown so much that it has become the most important B2B jewelry event in the Gulf and the Middle East, especially now that it is hosted inside the DEC, the brand-new and ultra-technological Dubai Exhibition Center located near Expo City.» This is how Francesco Santa, CEO of IEG Middle East, begins, less than 24 hours before the Opening Ceremony of JGTD – Jewellery, Gem & Technology. He confidently states that«for IEG, Dubai has proven to be the winning choice, increasingly attractive to a broader market that stretches from the Mediterranean – with Turkey leading the way – to India, including key players from the African market.» Originally, the project was ambitious: to become the reference point and connection between East and West, standing out from all other trade shows in the Middle East. But the response from exhibitors – over 350 of the best global companies from 30 countries, offering everything from gemstones and diamonds to machinery and brands – shows that the path taken is the right one. Among this year’s novelties is the first-time participation of companies from Kazakhstan, Jordan, and Taiwan, joining the national pavilions of China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. It’s a broad and diverse offering, ranging from finished jewelry to diamonds, colored gemstones, and production tools and technologies. To reinforce the global profile of the event, two exceptional partners return: DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) as Official Partner and Dubai Jewellery Group (DJG) as Industry Partner for the fourth consecutive year. JGTD represents a unique platform where wholesalers, retailers, brands, and manufacturers can not only stock up for the holiday season but also strategically plan for 2026. The event calendar is also rich, including tomorrow’s must-see talk: “Beyond Craftsmanship: The Role of Innovation and Consumer Insight in Sustaining Jewellery Businesses” organized by DJG. On Wednesday, three key events are scheduled: in the morning, the Middle East Jewellery Designers Forum by The New Jeweller; in the afternoon, “The Quantum Age Jewellery and the Convergence of Cultural Transformation,” a stop on the Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting Roadshow – IEG’s independent observatory – where Paola De Luca, founder and Creative Director of Trendvision, will meet industry spokespersons from the Middle East. To close the day, the China (Zhengzhou) - Dubai Industry Partnership & Business Matchmaking Forum 2025, organized by the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association.
