The Rebirth of the Fratelli Peruzzi Archive

Entitled “Jewelry in Florence, Fratelli Peruzzi Archive”, the book edited by Bianca Cappello will be presented in Florence on 30th March. A fascinating 237-page history of Italian goldsmithing with 300 archive photos

It is not easy to squeeze ninety years of jewelry production into a book but, after two years of meticulous work, Bianca Cappello, jewelry historian and researcher, has done it. In more than 200 pages and with 300 archive photos, “Jewels in Florence. Fratelli Peruzzi Archive. 1880-1970”, published by Livorno-based Sillabe, describes the fascinating journey of Florentine goldsmithing from the point of view of the Fratelli Peruzzi jewelry and silverware store, which, together with its workshop, is still located on Ponte Vecchio. «There are stories that cannot be kept in the attic,» explains Laura Giannoni Peruzzi. «That’s why I wanted all the documentary material to be studied and appreciated. By taking it out of its coffer, it can be preserved forever in everyone’s memory.»
