The art of mechanical intelligence: Glashutte Original

Fine watchmaker Glashutte has just presented at Baselworld 2017 a new generation of timepieces: the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar.
The Perpetual Calendar has always been one of the hallmarks of the Glashutte Original collection, and the new manufactory Calibre 36 redefines it in terms of precision, stability, running time and beauty. It's a true pleasure to see this historic complication join the young Senator Excellence family.

The new model takes the essential qualities of the 'Excellence' line and evolves them further. During the design and construction process, great focus was placed on ensuring optimum stability, user-friendliness and easy servicing. In addition to hours, minutes and seconds, the watch also showcases the Panorama Date, moon phase, day, month and leap year.

The Senator Excellence line fulfils the watchmaker's promise of a new standard of quality. Each of these watches – be it the Perpetual Calendar, three-hand model, with Panorama Date or Panorama Date and moon phase – undergoes thorough testing at the Saxon manufactory over a period of 24 days, under conditions even more demanding than those of the tough German Chronometer test.

Although the various displays of the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar boast remarkable legibility, they are still worth a second - or third - glance. Every detail has been perfectly crafted by experienced hands at the company's own dial manufactory.
