Timex and Contemporary Art 

The whimsy sketches of the famous American street artist, or rather those that evoke the theme of time, have become the leitmotif of the Timex X Keith Haring collection, three watches with a pop soul that pay tribute to the timeless art of the great performer. The Q Timex and Easy Reader models, both with three-sphere quartz movements, the former with a stainless steel and aluminum case, the latter with a low-lead brass case, and the Timex T80, with a digital movement and rectangular matt resin case, all “wear” the same chromatic dualism: a black background and white lines, a tribute to Haring's early chalk sketches on the panels of New York subways. A closer look shows that each watch “tells” something about the street The enigma of the passing of time and the even greater challenge to “capture” it in a design also fascinated the master of pop art. His unmistakable graphic traits have now returned in the Timex X Keith Haring watch collection — by MARISTELLA CAMPI artist's iconographic story. The figure of a stylized watch observed by three dogs is depicted on the dial of the Q Timex and repeated on the strap, while Keith Haring's signature embellishes the bezel at 5 o'clock. The Easy Reader features the emblematic lines of the “wall painter” drawing the elements of the dial, the four Arabic numerals and the stylized arrow hands, while the signature is on the black leather strap. Besides a dial with Indiglo illumination, the hour, minute, second, date and alarm functions on the Timex T80 highlight unmistakable graphic elements.
