Reinventing the Codes. Is Jewelry Modern? The co-founder of Colette in Paris and now head of Just an Idea speaks of this exact topic

«In general, I’m not a ‘vintage person.’ I’m more attracted to newness. But what I found amazing with this old jewelry in the Artcurial selection (Sarah was invited by Artcurial for a special auction of precious jewels and watches held in Monte Carlo in July) is how some pieces remain so modern, timeless. When my mum and I started the Colette ‘adventure,’ we thought of course about jewelry too. We always had a selection of jewelry mixing extreme brands from the beginning, from Chrome Hearts to Hélène de Taillac. Over the years, we saw an explosion of creativity, from very minimalist lines to opulent lines. In terms of contemporary trends, I’m deeply interested in innovation: I assume it’s a big change to be able to use 3D printers, a new horizon still to explore. My favorite designers? I love the creativity of Delfina Delettrez, I love the lines of Charlotte Chesnais (for me, she’s a revolution in jewelry), but of course I’m also fascinated by classic brands like Cartier and Tiffany & Co., which always reinvent themselves.»
