The ancestral energy of water to launch a new jewelry collection… John Hardy's idea enchants because it blends art, culture and nature with a poetic aesthetic. The Balinese brand has just created “Chain Remix”: a series of jewels which feature the brand’s signature hand-woven chain in brand new, transformable styles. «Chain Remix is a bold and fearless expression of our most iconic collection, and a celebration to all who wear our jewelry. The Hero necklace was designed and developed with interchangeable clasps and modular sections, empowering the wearer to explore their own sense of style, unique to them, by providing a runway of options to play with», says Jean Kee, Design Director of the brand, which on the occasion of this launch made a video in collaboration with the duo of artists and activists Kita Poleng. The video celebrates Balinese culture and connectivity to nature and community: the camera follows a performer as she embarks on her journey to a higher being through the performative dance of “Amrta,” which translates to “the water that connects us.” «By modernizing our most core elements to layer, drape and adorn the body in unconventional ways, the idea of transformability transcends past the actual jewelry – it has become a design philosophy that we found we shared with Jasmine and Dibal, the duo behind Kita Poleng. They were able to bring to life the story of movement and transformation with such breathtaking passion and soul, we were truly honored and thrilled to be given the opportunity to collaborate with them for the launch of Chain Remix.»
