Giorgio B, Between Volumes and Forms Wow Effect
The first high jewelry collection launched by Giorgio Bulgari revolves around architectural elaborations with oversized volumes. With a visual impact that leaves you breathless
While Giorgio Bulgari's passion for jewelry has grown little by little, it stands firm in his family roots. A descendant of the historic Bulgari family, here’s how he sums up his career path: «I started from the world of finance, to then cultivate my true, great passion, first alongside my father, then through the collaboration with Marina B as creative director, and finally with the launch of my own business, initially with the creation of unique pieces and now with the debut of my first collections, signed Giorgio B.» With no danger of misinterpretation, right from the first “Goccia” and “Palma” collections launched in spring 2023, his ornamental aesthetic demonstrates a skillful command of ideas, concepts and content. The jewelry exhibits a certain creative audacity, originating from materials molded with expert craftsmanship to give a geometric image resulting from the encounter of voluptuous curves, architectural volumes and essential lines that converge in oversized shapes with immediate visibility, yet light and easy to wear. Great attention is paid to the symmetry of the elements that define the surfaces, the personality of glossy colored enamel, the expressive power of rose gold and the beauty of ceramics. As Giorgio Bulgari's sees it, «creations are born either as one-of-a-kind pieces, or as part of collections or collaborative projects in which style, shape and materials communicate, following this precise sequence and in perfect harmony.» The result is an extremely personal image of the ornamental object that encompasses certain cornerstones of tradition, such as Italian craftsmanship, and of innovation, such as the contrasts between shapes, colors and materials, in tune with the evolution that the more emotional and involving contemporary jewelry is currently undergoing. And, according to Giorgio Bulgari, even more linked to a concept of understatement. And all this is what those who rely on him, in his Geneva studio, are seeking in order to see their “made-to-measure” jewel emerge through an experience based on trust that triggers close relationships between the jeweler and the client, together on a journey to be shared, idea after idea, sketch after sketch.
