Historical Milestones
To celebrate the company's 180th anniversary, Fabergé is sporting a series of collectible "eggs", the pride of Nico Clary, Head of Wholesale
«It has been a great pleasure to welcome our international partners and visitors at Vicenzaoro, to witness a renewed enthusiasm to attend trade shows and reconnect face-to-face with other like-minded people in the industry. This is a special year for Fabergé, as we celebrate the 180th Anniversary since the Maison was founded by Gustav Fabergé, father of Peter Carl who later took over the family business. To mark this occasion, we will be launching the special-edition Fabergé Colours of Love Rose Gold Diamond & Ruby Fluted Egg Pendant which takes inspiration from the Third Imperial Egg, the most recent of the lost Imperial Eggs to be found. Alongside this, we will also launch a limited edition of 180 Mini Gold Egg Objets. The piece which certainly drew the most attention at the fair this year was undoubtedly the Fabergé Strawberry Egg Objet, which we previewed for the first time. This creation forms part of a limited-edition of 10 Egg Objets as part of the Fabergé in Bloom series, which commemorates the importance of botanical studies in Fabergé’s legacy. These objets celebrate colour through a variety of coloured gemstones and sublime enamel colours. Set in 18k yellow gold, the Strawberry Egg Objet features a red guilloché enamel ‘shell’ and has a responsibly sourced Gemfields Mozambican cabochon ruby button. The egg opens to reveal a wild strawberry plant, decorated with six pearls and yellow sapphires. The egg sits on a carved aventurine stand. The high-jewellery market in general has been suffering over the last two years, not least due to the global pandemic, as well as political and economic challenges. For sure, the industry require to act cautiously. But We started this year with lot of enthusiasm, as we were all hoping to see retail store purchases growing in popularity again.»
