Fine jewelry meets pop culture in the new "Messika x Smiley" capsule collection. To mark the 50th anniversary of the world's most famous graphic icon - created in 1972 from the visionary mind of journalist Franklin Loufrani who wanted to spread good news in his France-Soir column -, Valérie Messika has joined forces with the 50 artists who have decided to celebrate the event. «When Smiley decides to celebrate its 50th anniversary, it naturally surrounds itself with brands which share a similar joie de vivre and mischievous spirit,» says the designer, now a friend of Smiley’s CEO, Nicolas Loufrani, with whom she shares a similar path: knowing how to be the boss of a major company without losing that lightness of spirit that allows you to see the positive side of life. Her contribution to this anniversary therefore came spontaneously. «Like many people, I have always had a loving attachment to this motif, a strong symbol of pop culture. It conveys so many values and principles in which I believe, including an ever-positive spirit, a smile. I was truly delighted to be one of the fifty guests invited by The Smiley Company. The overall exercise was a fun task, which doesn’t detract from the technicality and know-how involved in the jewelry. I’m sure that the project will be successful and, above all, transmit great positivity!» "Take the time to smile!" is the phrase that inspired Valérie Messika to "clothe" the talismanic necklaces in her Lucky Move collection with positivity. Indeed, the Smiley smile shines with the light of yellow and white diamonds in two pendants of different sizes, while the My Move bracelet, personalized in the Smiley version, features a black rubber strap with white and yellow Smiley motifs. The limited edition is available exclusively in the Messika boutique in Paris, rue Saint-Honoré, as well as in Galeries Lafayette Haussmann.
