Vicenzaoro Highlights, September 2024: The Upcoming Challenges of Beppe Ambrosini
Wyler Vetta's new partner and Senior Advisor reveals the latest new entries at the show, including the restyling of the Jumbostar collection
«My entire career has been in the field of prestige watchmaking. Becoming a partner of Wyler Vetta was an exciting challenge that I could not miss out on. This is a brand with an incredible history studded with innovations in various fields: in addition to 11 registered patents, Wyler Vetta calls to mind a watch that has been on the wrists of the most famous actors and sportsmen of our time. The brand offers distinctive and highly recognizable iconic models and contains all the ingredients that persuaded me to embark on this new adventure. If I had to define the spirit that energizes Wyler Vetta, the adjectives would be intriguing, like the Tribute to Hermetic model, competitive, like the Heritage watch, and wearable, like Jumbostar. And in regard to the latter model, our participation at VO' Clock (the talk is scheduled for today at 11 am, ed.) is just the perfect moment to present a preview of the latest introductions to this collection, which has been totally restyled. On the one hand, the design respects the lines of the model launched in 1968, while on the technical level, we have applied technical features to the watches, equipping them with new calibers that have enabled us to improve their performance and carry out an interesting intervention to reduce the thickness of the cases and thus optimize their wearability. For those who want a little more detail, the new Jumbostar chronographs with 40 mm diameter and 12.9 thick cases are equipped with the automatic ETA 2894 caliber. Also on show in Vicenza are the new Jumbostar Only Time with a 40 mm diameter case and a La Joux-Perret automatic G100 caliber movement. In my forward-looking nature, however, the next challenge is already looming: to create watches with the right quality/price ratio, offering excellent technical features and a particularly distinctive design, that the new generations will be able to afford.»
