Vicenzaoro Highlights, September 2025: Vicenza Becoming More and More Technological

At the conclusion of the first edition of The Vicenza Symposium, Damiano Zito, President of the Scientific Committee, provides an overview of this new IEG event dedicated to high tech

From September 2nd to 4th, the Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza welcomed approximately one hundred participants from 13 countries to attend three days of scientific presentations. To better understand the value of this new event, Damiano Zito (CEO of Progold S.p.A.), President of the event's Scientific Committee, provides an overview: «The jewelry and fashion accessory sector is currently undergoing profound transformations, requiring rigorous technical approaches, advanced research, and new production languages. The Vicenza Symposium was created to offer an independent, international, and authoritative space dedicated to those developing materials, processes, and solutions in the jewelry, advanced costume jewelry, and functional and decorative components of the fashion system. This is not a commercial or promotional event, but rather an opportunity for technical and scientific discussion among professionals, technologists, researchers, and operational figures who work every day to deliver concrete innovation. The symposium sessions addressed topics such as applied metallurgy, casting processes, additive manufacturing, welding and heat treatments, emerging regulations, finishes, mechanical processing, and the behavior of materials over time. Special attention was also given to hybrid applications between jewelry and accessories, sustainability issues, and process traceability. At a time when the boundaries between jewelry, fashion, and the technical industry are increasingly fluid, The Vicenza Symposium aims to be a useful platform for sharing knowledge, validating experimental approaches, discussing results, and helping define future standards. Those who chose to attend the symposium did so to listen to data, discuss methods, and return to their companies with a more solid and informed vision. Only through rigorous technical discussion and openness to cross-sector collaboration is it possible to build an innovative, reliable, and internationally competitive supply chain.»
