Coral and Cameo, a special week
There are a few days to a missed appointment. From 22th to 28th May 2017, in the various jewelleries of the province of Salerno, Italy, will be organized a series of events for the "Settimana del Corallo e del Cammeo" (Week of Coral and Cameo), with initiatives to support the candidacy of the processing of coral and the cameo of Torre del Greco to Intangible Heritage of UNESCO humanity.
A way to discover all the fascination of coral and cameo, an opportunity for the disclosure of a true treasure of the Campania region. The initiative of Federpreziosi Salerno, in collaboration with Assocoral and promoter committee, aims to divulge a cultural and historical treasure of Made in Italy: the processing of coral and the cameo of Torre del Greco. In addition, there will be numerous initiatives promoted by Federpreziosi in collaboration with Assocoral. Among these, the photographic exhibition at Palazzo Genovese in Salerno, "Seduzioni Senza Tempo (Timeless Seduction)", for a real journey to discover the two fascinating workings and the use of coral and cameo in different fashion and design creations.
The program:
Thursday, May 25th at 12.00 – Inauguration of photographic exhibition "Seduzioni Senza Tempo (Timeless Seduction)", Palazzo Genovese, with important exponents of the national goldsmith sector.
Friday, May 26th at 10.30 am – Demonstration of the techniques of processing the coral and the cameo, curated by the Istituto d’Arte Francesco Degni of Torre del Greco.
Saturday, May 27th at 10.30 am – musical performance by the students of the Liceo Musicale Alberto Galicia of Nocera Inferiore.
