Florence Jewellery Week

Florence Jewellery Week

Back to the future with Preziosa 2017. Le Arti Orafe, the famous jewellery school in Florence, is organizing an intensive 7-day event devoted to the jewellery world and the complex relationships between artistic research, crafts and design. From 24th to 28th May 2017 in “Oltrarno” district, among the Lungarno and piazza Santo Spirito Square, LAO - Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School - organizes Preziosa 2017-Florence Jewellery Week, a unique event in Italy.

The exhibitions and all other moments of the event place the emphasis on the interactions between tradition and artistic research, manual skills and new technologies, and between the different meanings and symbolical values that jewellery can take on in different cultural and geographical environments. The event also aims to focus on the cultural aspects of identity/diversity, which is one of the main topics of the debate in recent years. The project includes exhibitions by contemporary artists from various countries, lectures and presentations, workshops led by invited artists, lecturers and curators.
