«Throughout its history, Bvlgari has built an extremely solid and selective relationship with an international network of colored stone suppliers. These partnerships are based on mutual trust, in-depth knowledge of the market and a constant search for excellence. This relational asset is now a fundamental element that allows us to access gems of extraordinary rarity and quality.
At the same time, the company is strongly committed to ensuring an increasingly more transparent and responsible supply chain. In line with the ethical principles of the LVMH Group, we work closely with our partners to promote rigorous practices throughout the supply chain, collaborating exclusively with suppliers who share these same standards.
Colored stone traceability is a complex challenge for the entire sector. That is why we actively participate in working groups and share initiatives with other industry players with the aim of developing increasingly effective tools to guarantee it.
Since its very beginning, Bvlgari has stood out for its unique sensitivity in identifying gems with extraordinary character, becoming a pioneer in exploring bold material and color combinations, going beyond the traditional use of the so-called “Big Three” - sapphires, emeralds and rubies - to enhance a much broader chromatic universe.
It is not simply a matter of selecting rare stones, but of recognizing those that have the potential to become the heart of an iconic creation, a vision that is currently one of the most authentic competitive advantages.
As for market trends, Bvlgari often anticipates them rather than follow them, acting as an authentic trend setter in the world of colored stones and helping to redefine the aesthetic codes of high jewelry with daring combinations, surprising colors and a continuous exploration of unconventional gems.
Over the years, we have brought extraordinary stones to the limelight, such as spinels, imperial topaz or mandarin garnet and, more recently, also kunzites and morganites which, after having been featured in our creations, have seen significant growth in terms of market interest and valorization.
For our company, the starting point is always the ability to recognize the unique character of a gem and translate it into an innovative, creative and distinctive vision. A combination of audacity, culture and stylistic identity that continues to allow us to interpret contemporary taste.
When we talk about rare and extremely high-quality colored gems, we enter a dimension that goes beyond the cyclical dynamics of the market, destined to maintain value and attractiveness over time. At Bvlgari, the criterion is always the same: to select gems that meet the highest standards and that have a truly unique character. It is this intrinsic rarity, more than any trend, that makes them enduring.»
