JCK Las Vegas: The Place to Be

JCK Las Vegas: The Place to Be

Starting today, JCK brings the latest in the jewelry industry to Las Vegas

Think of JCK as a welcoming metropolis, animated by many neighborhoods (twenty-two to be exact), and populated by talented jewelry designers and iconic brands; a place where every year you can discover the most interesting developments on the international scene and get an inside look at the future of jewelry. It is a unique place in which business, technology, culture and fashion come together to satisfy the many demands of the industry.

There is the Design Center, populated by artists and artisans that offer works of rare beauty and preciousness. There is a diamond piazza, dedicated to the most sought-after stone of all time, showcasing the diamond’s every form, size, cut and color. This year, a particularly hot topic will be debated and investigated: the future of real and synthetic gems (Is the real diamond destined to extinction?). Then there are the rows of luxury and prestige, where you can admire jewels distinguished for a singular and exclusive style.

The new 2017 edition, which begins today and ends 8 June, vaunts an even more varied and assorted line-up that hosts new brands from Belgium, Thailand, and Turkey in addition to so many other countries that have been participating in the event for years. Italian savoir faire will, as always, be represented by ‘VICENZAORO Italian Passion. Made with love,’ with a format conceived and organized by the Italian Exhibition Group to present a preview of the latest developments of the finest Italian companies.

Large statement pieces, colored stones and dramatic forms are the trends that really stand out. Necklaces, particularly unbending chokers are ever-present, along with different stones in various shades of Greenery, the Pantone 2017 Color of the Year, (think peridot, tourmaline, Chrysoprase or jade). The heart shape is becoming even more popular and contemporary, while the most desired diamond cut is angular. As always, turquoise (or stones in turquoise tones) is the undisputed star of the summer season, especially if paired with lapis lazuli.
